Omg, I'm really that clumsy. The Bermuda Triangle!! There use to be stories and theories of aliens and monsters, but now it is know that some of the problems could be caused by the electromagnetic properties of the area. You can probably find what you need with this one!

Ah! There's this story of a lab researcher discovering that the halucinations of his colleges where caused by the vibrations of a newly intalled machine. I dunno if it has two sources that contradic each other but maybe you can look into it

It is also know now that people tend to have this sense of dread when exposed to infrasounds, so maybe you could take any haunying story and argue against ot with this info??

Hmm... the story of the bridge where dogs would jump to their death was rather popular before. There were people saying that it was because of ghosts, but there are some logic explanations now, maybe that would help you?
