Ravelry: milesss' hell of scraps and bits (chicken shawl)
started a new project, finally
it's a shawl made of various bits of yarn of varying lengths i got from a sweater of my dad's that had holes in the elbows. it's also unwittingly kind of my school colors. im super excited, the pattern name also rlly matches the yarn colors bc,, these are chicken colors so it'll be like a chicken
it is not often that I do creative/crafty things. I have been working on this shawl though and I'm so pleased by my progress so far.
Fuck yeah! Is it going to be those three colors repeating all the way down?
@star-rice thank you for the best tag I've seen
NP DUDE ITS JUST THAT.... IS THAT YOUR FUCKING PALM BC IF SO. I"LL HAPPILY REPEAT MYSELF.
It is my palm!
Jesus tap dancing christ thats fucking small. Istg did you use a fucking magnefying glass to make those stitches? Good merciful fuck.
Haha I didn't use a magnefying glass. I almost did for the bee though
No kidding. I can see why. That's one itty bitty ass bumble friend.
my spindle finally arrived!!!
this yarn is as uneven and lumpy as heck but I love it because aaaa this is so fun?? time to go look up a bunch of drop spindle spinning tips now, I guess!!
that looks so nice!! it reminds me of some super chunky yarn i got a while ago that i made a headband out of (and then sadly lost at the chicago train station :[ )
so the librarian and her math teacher friend have been very kind to me so i'm working on dice bags for their upcoming dnd campaign and it requires dpns which I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR
3 needles?? that is completely unneccessary!!! there is no need for three needles! my poor hands can't handle it!!!!
@smallest-spiderweb watched me nearly lose my shit just trying to get this far
if the dpns are bothering you so much you could find a circular that's the right size and magic loop the excess.
honestly i just use circulars for everything. any needles i have that ARENT circulars are just, why throw away what you might as well use. circulars're a lot easier on my wrists, too
Lots of blue. Dirty desk
i somehow ripped a huge hole in my knitting bag. have attempted to strengthen the edges by making a giant buttonhole, not sure whether to proceed by sewing it shut or go the hard route by attempting to weave across and preserve the amount of fabric.
no, it doesnt look nearly that purple OR that yellow irl... its mostly brown
im gonna make a pair of fingerless gloves w this yarn as a trade for some stick n pokes from a friend of a friend! im hoping there'll b enough yarn left over for a little somethin for me...
