gender is like water.

sometimes solid, sometimes fluid, sometimes gaseous, and sometimes, a refreshing cool drink! it can be poured over one's head after exercise. it cleanses, and makes mud, and provides homes for 20% of life on earth according to this article in the atlantic. it is full of fish, frogs, turtles, various aquatic plants, algae, and probably some fungi of sorts. it is made of hydrogen and oxygen. in winter, it falls from the sky as snowflakes. in summer, it falls from the sky in droplets. sometimes it falls from the sky as spheres which hurt you. it can be used to build houses, or sculptures. it makes up the majority of our planet's 5th largest continent. sometimes school is cancelled because of it. it is fun to swim in. sometimes it forms puddles to stomp in or wander into while distracted and get your hiking boots wet like i did earlier today.

gender is like water in that too much can kill you, but it is unlike water in that too little can't kill you. it is also unlike water in that it does not reflect the sky, but it is like water in that it reflects you. but you have to stand by it on a relatively bright and not particularly windy day for it to do that.

same thing as above but with a paragraph break after each line for readability
